The Great Tinaroo Raid was started in 2003 as an opportunity for members to display their boats and to socialise and enjoy a range of activities from aquatic treasure hunts to fancy dress parties. Traditionally held at the Tinaroo Sailing club campgrounds, this 3 day event in July is now a less formal occasion with members enjoying a relaxed social weekend. Highlights are the races of Seagull outboard motors, Peculiar Propulsion, rowing (forward and backward) and paddling race. Members bring their own boats ranging from canoes to putt-putt motor boats, skiffs and sailing dinghys to steam launches.
